The Anticipated Assertion of Certainty (AAC) as fundamental to Psychoanalysis is repressed along with it - except for C.Pope who repressed only the later. This raw absence unveils what Psychoanalysis represses. It summons Theaux to mention the role of biochemistry in the ability to analyse Psyche. Once this perspective cleared, contribution from Pope to knowledge of libido and naming are acknowledged.

Anticipated Assertion of Certainty


It is because I consider that Charles Pope may have completed, for our new mentality, the general picture of the Ancient World, that I am considering to make a harsh review of his essential work.
Anyone who understand Psychoanalysis knows that I shall expose myself along, with the pomp of paranoia--since at the present time of its consciousness in progress, the human knowledge reflects its own 'paranoiac foundation'. I shall try to to this in a concise manner.

Charles Pope's Living in Truth misses the opportunity to add certain information to its remarkable work. Thus his view establishes a high platform, but not yet the continuous ascending path which has to be the mode of conscious evolution. Reason for this is found in the absence, resistance or insufficiency of an integrated concept of Psyche in his method. I shall show that he is very close to resolve this lack, he still expresses it as a symptom.

The material for this analysis is found in the two paragraphs Introduction of the fourth essay ("Surest Signs of Piety"). In the first paragraph Pope acknowledges the pre-eminence of Psychoanalysis in the identification of Akhnaton during the 20th century but, while he mentions Sigmund Freud and Karl Abraham as the first authors (and psychoanalysts) who tackled this enigma, he does not make precise that their follower in the matter, Immanuel Velikovksy, was also Psychoanalyst and Freud's student. Therefore his acknowledgement of an advance of Psychoanalysis by some 60 years before the University in regards to the Amarnian elucidation, is somewhat altered by this omission (note 10).

In the second paragraph of his Introduction, Pope indicates 1990 as for the date when "the correspondence between Akhenaten and Moses was brought once again under scholarly consideration" with Ahmed Osman's "Moses: Pharaoh of Egypt." In a way it is true, for by method scholars only consider as knowledge what is scholarly published; but from a deeper view, it is misleading. For it seems to indicate that the "third generation Freudian Psychoanalyst William Theaux"--as Pope mentions it secondarily--stood on Osman's foundation in order to identify Moses with Oedipus after Velikovksy. Such chronology would be wrong, for the identification of Akhnaton-Moses-Oedipus has been achieved and made public by 1985, prior to Osman's publication.
It is true that Osman brought the Egyptological confirmation to "ORDONC" and "Akhenaton ou la Veritable Identite de Moise et d'Oedipe" (and other books written by Theaux and published by UNEFPE). These two references (with others) prove that the identification of Akhnaton-Moses had been achieved by the sole means of Psychoanalysis. It could be a tragic error to believe that the triple identity began first with Egyptology, then followed by Psychoanalysis (note 20). The truth is that this discovery has been made entirely by Psychoanalysis, and the initial difficulty of Osman, still holding back Egyptology, indicates better where resistance comes from.

This present claim for an acknowledgement is paranoia at first sight, but a closer observation will indicate better the complex distribution of this psychopathological structure of knowledge:
Pope's work is structured in a way which puts an essential importance on DNA findings. If DNA analysis of egyptian mummies confirms the model that he has prophesied for the 18th Dynasty, he will have proven the eminent and functional power of the written memory of the Bible. The other way round would not be so powerful. For if these genetic discoveries were first made, it would just open to indecisive debate for knowing if the Bible really knew.

 To summarize this situation, a logically timed process of certification of Truth is vividly understood by Pope who lends his essays towards DNA confirmation But on the other hand, he does not acknowledge the similar case of anteriority with the Psychoanalytic identification of Akhnaton, Moses and Oedipus. The third Psychoanalyst's interpretation before Osman's confirmation is equivalent to Pope's identification before DNA testing. In omitting, eluding or repressing, the antecedence of Psychoanalysis over Egyptology, Pope denies his own discourse. This is a symptom and has several meanings. The most obvious is the general repression of Psychoanalysis.




Drugs & Hormones in Primal Scene


Repression of Psychoanalysis is something natural as long as Psychoanalysis does not belong to the cultural standards. In fact, in our present time the individualistic practice Psychoanalysis is even more anti-cultural than any standard. Psychoanalysis that people usually know is a twisted tools of repression (see how a representative of the established freudian repression still treats the Oedipian case). Before than Psychoanalysis recuperates a positive drive Pope has at least one good reason for repressing the Freudian process. But the consequences are worrying. Confusion about the causal anteriority of Psychoanalysis does not allow to know what has triggered the immense activity which has occupied Pope's mind during the early year 1999.

Fortunately the Summary of Living in Truth permits to suspect that the revelation of the Greek memory (of Akhnaton's life as Oedipus) has preceded a sharp increase in Pope's talent. This is all that he gives for a live proof of the importance of the Hellenic information beyond the Bible. Nevertheless, he is suggesting why we should take great care to deliver the Oedipian formula to the population at the same time with the dual identity of Akhnaton-Moses. This is what I am fighting for since 1990, when I met Osman and realized that his dual identification was supporting Freud's own resistance and its tragic ideology of a civilization which would be ruled by murders and possessed by death drive (Thanatos). As a positive effect it draw my attention towards a possible weakness of my analysis.
I must confess that I was aware that I was keeping hidden obvious observations--for I was afraid that they could aggravate the general disregard for Psychoanalysis and make my voice even less admissible than ever. However with the recent final rejection by American Psychoanalytic Association of the most achieved formulation of my analytic project, I am more less concerned with its bad reputation, and I believe anyhow that it is time for releasing what must be said about one of our major contemporary taboo:


There is something which lacks in an absolute manner in Charles Pope's expose. This is not specific to him. It seems to be universally lacking over Academia. One must make therefore a preliminary observation: Academia or the University are political tools. When a society experiences an ideological phase, the University is entirely subjected to this ideology. In the past, this has been known as the Inquisition. In the present time this process is again active for Human history is experiencing a new opportunity for Rebirth (Renaissance) or Awakening. Notably, it regards drugs/hormones industry. There are other domains where it is active , abortion which will be considered as equivalent to the sacrifice of magicians on stakes, satanization of cloning and veto on artificial pregnancies. Since these aspects of divinity through human life are so controversial, the question of the drugs/hormones industry will be enough to deal with in the present occasion.

Three points must be also mentioned. As a Psychiatrist, I have no bad prejudices against drugs/hormones, which are a major components of the Western medicine of the mental being. Being from a generation which stood at the hinge of the mutation of Psychiatry, and witnessing when I was student what was still the insane asylum prior to the use of chemicals, then witnessing the blessing that these substances have been against atrocious suffering, I see myself also today at the hinge of an immense social mutation and the perspective of serious catastrophes unless we find a treatment for the balance between mankind and its ecology. Knowing the positive aspect of the use of chemical in regards to the individual behavior in its environment, I can contemplate that similar positive effects can be provided at a mass level.
Secondly, the phobia against drugs/hormones is nevertheless well spread in my profession. The institutionalized Psychoanalysis makes a remarkable example when it does not emphasize the fact that Freud was under drugs most of his life (Cocaine, Tobaco, Morphine). This is an indication of the usurpation of the label of Psychoanalysis by what I have described above and its possession by the Inquisition in the present time.
Thirdly, the dissidence from this Inquisition has begun with the use of Cybernetic formulae within the Freudian discourse and the consecutive possibility to extend it towards it natural domain which is ecology. It is clear that industry of drugs/hormones - as well as genetic engineering, controlled embryology, and education by artificial intelligence - are all mere Cybernetic phenomenons. If PLural ANalysis makes sense, it does not address only computerized social administration, but also drugs/hormones distribution, Genetic engineering programming, and planification of artificial intelligence based education. From its privileged rank in preceding consciousness, Psychoanalysis (i.e.the analysis of reflection) must enounce what was the use and importance of drugs amongst the elite, priests and other 'divine' persons of the Ancient Times, and what will commonly participate someday in a Universtary knowledge or simply Collective Knowledge.

Scholars, and Pope in this instance, must deal today with the evidence that Moses was related to a said 'leprosy' plague. But chemistry laboratories have brought the proof that similar substance as LSD were used in the Antiquity (it has been proved for instance in relation with Demeterian cults). It is not my intention to specify all the details which make this observation so compelling (Sandoz laboratory has made conclusive studies). But the clues are so strong that Akhnaton distributed to a 'mixed multitude' the chemical which helps to 'see the gods' (which was previously limited to elitist initiation), that the absence of any mention of the fact or its possibility by our scholars, lifts the probability to the level of certainty. The same laboratories for instance, which produces LSD, describe the effects of poorly refined substance, as causing similar pathology (necrosis/amputation) as of the global description of Moses and his company "who wished to see the God(s)."
The Amarnian experience was applying in a limited enclosed city the open delivery of the previously secret initiation. This is the experience which lead the 'mixed multitude' to be 'polluted' and banished. Only secondarily, with the said second delivery of the Law, Akhnaton had become rebellious and it was now the social Laws of Writing that Moses provided (and programmed) his community with.




Paranoiac Foundation and libido


The original biochemical (cybernetic) atonian politic is important to be known today, for our society has recently made choice for worrisome options, when it statanized the use of drugs/hormones in the population. We understand very well that the doctrine of freedom needs certain restriction that our rich politicians help to maintain. It is fair; people do not pay taxes in order to get drugs! But when the biosphere will impose important modification of human behavior, or destructive pain if not its mere extinction, we shall benefit from the help of a miraculous planet management by computers. At that moment, these machine may indicate that the use of certain drugs/hormones by humankind may be favorable. It would be helpful if we prepare this possibility with a clear historical knowledge of the reason why Akhnaton was so unfortunately repressed - e.g.his application of the Alchemy of the brain at a mass level. The 'deceased mixed multitude' of Moses was a group of people who had 'seen the Gods', who had irremediably developed their political consciousness, and also who were sick from this chemistry which was approximate and therefore dangerous in those times.


Options will be made to decide if Psychoanalysis has to be repressed because it releases the repressed or because it fails its mission for truth.. In both cases, I hope that this will clarify what Pope left ambiguous, for then one will fully appreciate the brilliant opening that he promises. After its provoking biocybernetic question, is a work which offers two more classical Psychoanalytical observations about libido and naming.
We exchanged information and points of view about psychology of leadership in the Ancient World. The role of the feminine is not clear, and I found hard to believe that so many powerful dictators (according to Pope's description) had accepted to try, during limited period of time, to procreate with a wife but, when they were unsuccessful, accepted to send her to a rival brother and thus losing most of their own succession right. Unless the structure was controlled by women, I imagine that the unsuccessful patriarch would have sought for the help of an officer or an accomplice, and keep in silence all at once: wife, heir, honor, wealth and power.

Pope answered
Regarding "heirs," I am trying to convey the Bible's treatment of the
subject, not necessarily what was reality. The impression that I get from
the Bible is that genetic integrity was the most sacred thing to those
people. Their own divinity depended on it. To cheat, as you suggested,
probably would not have occurred to them.

This answer left me without arguments. Very simple explanations often tend to be correct. In this case, the science of the mind will have to explain why and how this sort of 'faith' was possessing entire families of Kings.

If Pope's explanation is correct the current science of psychology, would describe this kingship mentality closer to a delusion than of a neurotic compulsion. It is possible; the paranoiac foundation of the human personality has been one of the hypothesis which has been responsible for Lacan being 'excommunicated' (sic) from all kind of institutions (thus fulfilling at least one indicator of Truth). Moreover, such human founding pathos could have well combine with a reproductive social organization controlled by women. This would thus provide with both a psychological and sociological explanation.



Lacanian Naming  confirmed


The second mention about Charles' essay should make Lacanians enthusiastic. It is the generative story of Thutmose III according to Pope. If it is proven correct, it will bring another confirmation to the dissident Psychoanalysis.

Considering again the paranoiac foundation, it theorically gives way to the Oedipus Complex around a hinge which is make of a trine structure of fatherhood. Lacan described it as Symbolic, Imaginary and Real. Respectively Abram, Thutmose II and Thutmose I would have fathered the funding King Patriarch Thutmose III this way, thus asserting what the theory presumed.


Once again we see how important is a clear notion of the sequence in the declaration of Truth. For if it was not clear that Lacan has preceded Charles Pope - that casuistic of Fatherhood would have not been confirmed by Pope/Egyptology (Psychoanalysis would be seen as a sophistic essay after Egyptology instead). Likewise, this is why it is important that Charles Pope has been able to publish before the DNA test results. And also why it is important to know that Zenon Kelper had published noticeably before any Egyptologists the identification of Akhnaton as Moses and Oedipus.


Precession in the certainty may have a triggering effect on the development of science and this understanding opening toward Ecological management orientations. As I was awaiting for Osman's confirmation which opened - as Casaubon's repetition - the avenue of Trismegistus identification, Lacan was awaiting for Pope's naming of the Father of kings, and Pope for DNA confirmation. This sequential chronology also bases the necessity of Analysis before managing one's environment with the logic of Desire. It is the same structure of time that draws the new mystery: why did a Bible kept memory so well? This presence of the past is not explained by the 'heir' syndrome as it may be disclosed so far. The answer will probably have to be found through theology, and/or linguistic, and/or Psychoanalysis again.

Note 20:In this analysis, I do not take into account the initial discovery (circus 1900) of Akhnaton and Amarna which allowed his identification by three generations of Psychoanalysts (from 1912 to 1985). This option is based on the observation that Egyptology has not really been a science until 1990 (A.Osman, J.Assman). Before Egyptology adds History to its Archeology, it is not a science but a technique for classification - this has been detailed in a Amarna eGroup thread.
